From Seeds to Systems: How We’re Growing Community in April
As the air warms and the days grow longer, April arrives with a promise: a season for planting, for connecting, and for deepening our roots in community agriculture. Across Augusta, growers, gardeners, and advocates are coming together to create a more sustainable, equitable, and beautiful food system.
Let’s take a moment to reflect on what we’ve accomplished—and look ahead to what’s next.
March: A Month of Milestones
March was packed with meaningful moments:
✅ South Augusta Farmers Market Soft Opening (March 15) – Our community showed up strong for the Wellness Expo hosted by The Links Organization. Farmers, community volunteers, and neighbors alike gathered to celebrate a commitment to wellness and to learn more about the market’s return. The energy was electric.
✅ Georgia Agriculture Week (March 18-22) – We spotlighted local agriculture all week long—featuring urban farms, school gardens, and edible landscapes that remind us all that every green space matters. We are eager to solidify new partnerships for Georgia Ag Week 2026.
April: Earth Month, New Growth, and Opportunities
This month, we’re focusing on Earth Month and the power of small, local actions to make a big impact.
Here’s what’s coming up:
📌 April 6 – Youth Garden Leadership Session at Belle Terrace
📌 April 11 – Last Day for Early Bird Registration for Rooted in Nature Summer Camp
📌 April 20 – Earth Day Weekend Plant Giveaway (Location TBA – stay tuned!)
📌 Ongoing – Backyard Garden Consultations (We’ll help you design, plant, and grow!)
Whether you’re planting a pot of herbs on your balcony or starting a full backyard garden, you have the power to nourish your family and community.
Need help getting started? We’re here for you. This month, we’re offering free phone consultations for aspiring gardeners. And if you decide to book an in-person site visit, the consultation fee goes toward your custom garden plan.
